Several weeks before the baby is due you should begin to plan your trip to the hospital.
Dont let labor catch you by surprise. Be well rested. Take a nap or rest lying
down each day.
Who will care for other children while you are in the hospital?
Arrange for help at home when you return with the new baby.
Organize the babys room or care area with necessary supplies.
Plan and freeze meals ahead of time, if possible.
One or two nightgowns. If nursing, a front opening is handy.
Toiletries - toothbrush, shampoo, lotion, razor, etc
Robe and slippers
Going-home outfit (loose and comfortable)
Phone calling card
A pillow from home (for comfort)
Expensive jewelry
Cash or credit cards
T-shirt
Receiving blanket
Gown or stretch suit
Heavier blanket, sweater and bonnet if the weather is cool
(remember dont overdress the baby)
Car seat (practice installing it correctly before your trip to the hospital)
