San Pedro - Obstetrics

At Little Company of Mary Hospital – San Pedro, there are 8 LDRP (labor, delivery, recovery and postpartum) suites, where patients may stay from admittance to discharge. Each suite is equipped with a birthing bed, which is comfortable for the mother during labor and can be quickly converted for delivery. There is a place in the suites for the father or significant other to stay, as well as room for other family members who wish to participate in the birthing experience. Most exciting, there is room in these suites for a bassinet, so mothers can remain with their babies throughout their stay at the hospital. We’ve also included many special touches to make the stay more comfortable and special:

• Private bathrooms with showers in each suite

• Refrigerators

• Celebration dinners for family, including special menu

Rest assured that aside from all the niceties the new suites have to offer, the safety of mother and baby is our priority Patients who deliver by caesarean section will be moved to a family centered post surgical area that provides the same degree of personalized, compassionate care. All suites include fetal monitoring and birthing equipment, and if special medical attention is needed for the newborn, direct access to our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and neonatologist are available. In addition, our extensive commitment to infant security will add peace of mind to the new parents and family, so that everyone can relax and get the rest they need.
