Additionally, patients are seldom hospitalized for complications associated with chemotherapy and radiotherapy due, in part, to the availability of growth factors that stimulate white cell and red cell production. Because of their use, patients seldom require inpatient therapy for the infectious disease complications of chemotherapy. For this reason, intravenous fluids and antibiotics are administered on an outpatient basis at the Little Company of Mary Outpatient Care Center — Torrance and the Cancer Center, as well as through our home care affiliate.
